 CHILDREN'S MUSIC PROGRAMS

Welcome to

In Response to these unprecedented times, Music Together® World Wide has put together an amazing online program so that we can all get together a make music together! Being mindful of screen time when it comes to your children, please know that this class is, as it always has been, largely dependent on the interactions between you and your children. The screen between us exists to inspire ideas for how you can make music with your children and allows us all to have a little much needed connection as well.

With Music Together Online, you’ll have access to the same high-quality music and movement curriculum loved by millions of families and teachers around the world—from home!

During each live/interactive class, your favorite teachers from Noteable Kids will lead activities for you and your whole family to sing, play, and jam along to. We’ll be using songs from the Maracas collection, and your teacher will show you how to make everyday items like dish towels, pots, and stuffies into musical props! Classes are appropriate for children under 5—but the whole family (and encouraged!) is welcome to participate!

When you enroll, you will receive a code to download your music through our award-winning Hello Everybody app, a hard-copy songbook, and an invitation to our private online group, where we will share musical inspiration and activities to try at home, and where you can connect with other enrolled parents.

Your Tuition also includes:
  • One 30-minute Zoom class with your teacher, a trained early childhood music educator.
  • Ability to make up missed classes.
  • Additional videos, including parent education, musical crafts, lullabies, and more.
  • A private online group page to connect with other Music Together Families.
  • Printables and other downloadable family resources, including coloring pages, musical games, and more.
  • Kazoo Song Collection materials (songbook, CD, download code) mailed directly to your door.
  • Kazoo Song Collection download code emailed upon Zoom class confirmation.

Bringing Music Home

Age Guidelines 0-5 years

Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement.

Music Together classes are based on the recognition that all children are musical. All children can learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning. By emphasizing actual music experiences rather than concepts about music, Music Together introduces children to the pleasures of making music instead of passively receiving it from CDs or TV.

Central to the Music Together approach is that young children learn best from the powerful role model of parents/caregivers who are actively making music. The program brings families together by providing a rich musical environment in the classroom and by facilitating family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home within the context of daily life.

Our mission is...

To provide the highest quality music and movement experiences to as many young children as possible and to involve their parents and other adult caregivers, including early childhood professionals.

Basic Principles of the Music Together Philosophy
  I.  All children are musical.
II. Therefore, all children can achieve basic music competence, which we have defined as the ability  to sing in tune and move with accurate rhythm.
III.The participation and modeling of parents and caregivers, regardless of their musical ability, is  essential to a child's musical growth.
IV. This growth is best achieved in a playful, developmentally appropriate, non-performance-oriented learning environment that is musically rich yet immediately accessible to the child's-and the  adult's!-participation.

Music Together is committed to helping families, caregivers, and early childhood professionals rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal music experiences. All our teachers have successfully completed Music Together’s training program. Music Together applies the latest research in early childhood music development to the program. A curriculum pioneer since 1987.

Which Class is right for our family?

Music Together Mixed-age Classes

(Age Guidelines 0-5)

This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age four through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregivers—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience.

Music Together Babies Classes

(Age Guidelines 0-9mos)

Every child’s development benefits from early exposure to music and movement. Because the early months are so important, Music Together offers two options for babies. Babies eight months and younger at the time of registration may attend a Mixed Ages Class, whether registered on their own or attending free with an older brother or sister. Babies may also take the special “Babies Class” offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together. (This class cannot be repeated.) The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.

Wee Music & Theatre Classes

(Age Guidelines 3 1/3 - 5 1/2)

This hybrid MUSIC plus THEATRE class goes the next step in music development, introducing note recognition, expanding on rhythm & meter through movement and small instrument play... AND introducing children to theatre through improvisation, body movement and theatrical play. This non-performance class is play-based and highly interactive, hands-on fun! Class meets once weekly for ten weeks.
